I have flown to Palm Springs this week to attend the CHDI Annual Conference. Academics, clinicians and industry scientists funded or working in collaboration with the CHDI Foundation meet here every year to discuss the latest work and breakthroughs in the field of Huntington’s disease.
I am looking forward to hearing updates from the latest clinical trials, discussing new potential therapeutic avenues and how technical breakthroughs in biochemistry could be exploited for development of new treatments for HD. I am particularly looking forward to a talk by Frederic Sandou, discussing the role of proteolysis in HD patholog which is very relevant to my current experiments.
This will also be a great opportunity to meet other scientists working in the field of Huntingtin structure-function. It would be excellent to make some new connections who would like to collaborate through labscribbles, I will keep my fingers crossed.
Everyday, I will post a summary of a few of the presentations. The HDBuzz blog will be reporting real-time bite-size summaries of each talk, I recommend checking out their site here.
